BALANCE and EQUILIBRIUM

A learning curve is a graphical representation of the increase of learning (vertical axis) with experience (horizontal axis).

The expression steep learning curve is used with opposite meanings.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Experience_curve_effects

Experience shows that the more times a task has been performed, the less time is required on each subsequent iteration.

Reasons for the effect

Labour efficiency

Standardization, specialization, and methods improvements

Technology-Driven Learning

Better use of equipment

Changes in the resource mix

Product redesign

Network-building and use-cost reductions (network effects)

Shared experience effects

Experience curve discontinuities

The experience curve effect can on occasion come to an abrupt stop. Existing processes become obsolete and the firm must upgrade to remain competitive.
